Possum fur is exceptionally warm and cosy and this trendy, waist length, New Zealand made, reversible vest is made from nothing but possum fur pelts. It has individual panels, machine overlocked together, with the seams showing as a feature on the leather side of the vest. The revere collar is quite large and can be pulled snuggly against the neck. Two wooden and leather toggles fasten this vest and they are attached to the front of the garment with small patches of extra hide, both for strength and neatness. All outer edges of the vest have been left raw. New Zealand's native flora and fauna are being ravaged by this introduced species so help us eradicate this pest and indulge yourself in fur without feeling guilty. Pictured here the vest is being worn with the fur to the outside; the pelt and fur are undyed. The fur is a rich red/brown and the pelt can have a slightly mottled effect from the curing process. This adds character and compliments the natural look of the vest.
