Description

These genuine lambskin gloves are New Zealand made locally in South Canterbury by skilled glove makers working from home.

The lambskins are 'slink' skin, the skin from stillborn lambs. Each glove is attractively hand-stitched and bears the mark of an individual crafts person.

These leather or suede finished gloves are soft and ultra comfortable to wear and can be worn in a range of environments.

Although showerproof they still allow the skin to breathe. Choose the suede or the nappa (leather) outer you desire whilst the inside is soft naturally curly lambswool which may be left curly or brushed smooth.

To ascertain your glove size measure right around your hand across your knuckles. The measurement you get (in inches) will match with the size of the gloves you require, e.g. if your hand measurement is 7 1/2 inches then your glove size will be 7 1/2.

Cleaning instructions are included with each pair of gloves.

Black Lambskin gloves I’ve worn these for over four months now. My first impression was that I ordered 1/2 a size too small but after 3 or 4 wearings they fit perfectly. Stick with the measurements suggested for sizing. I noticed my finger nails looked dirty after wearing them so I turned them inside out and took a lint roller to them. That helped but there are still some loose black fibers. I’m still rating these five stars because they are a terrific pair of gloves. They are warm, windproof and tactile.,2

Four Peaks - Hand Stitched Lambskin Gloves

The best 3 season butterly soft go-to gloves--long I have had a total of 3 pairs of 4-peak gloves over the years: one beige suede pair w/ natural ivory colored lambswool inside I bought in Canada at Bay dept store (8.5); brown suede pair I ordered direct (8); and now a black Napa leather pair (8.5). There are no other gloves that even come closer to the ones I get from The Tin Shed. I use them as driving gloves, I use them while operating a snow blower or a snow shovel, or to grab dog's tennis ball in late fall. I found that though my hand measure is 7.5 inches if I measure all 4 fingers together as if choosing a pair of dress gloves, but I use these for high level activities so I found that 8.5 inch pair is the most comfortable and without suppressing the fur, thus, pressing the "air core" space inside the gloves for the warmth, I urge those who are thinking of using these gloves to measure their hand with the fingers wide open because if that's what you are doing while wearing these gloves, the regular "dress" glove sizing will not fit, especially in the stretch between the thumb and the index finger area. I can go on about the benefits of these four peak gloves but by telling you that it took me 4 years of continuous search to locate my 2nd pair after my 1st pair was repaired over and over should tell you how desperate I was in locating the four-peak gloves. I was worried a bit that maybe getting 8.5 is a bit too much but it tuned out that I have a bit of left over space (too long) on the thumb and the little finger but then the amount of excess isn't that different between my size 8 pair and size 8.5, so I am quite happy that I have 8.5. I think excluding the thumb and the little finger, the rest of the finger lengths are just fine. I can tell you that the index finger tip thins first, then the middle finger, then the thumb, in that order and the seam connecting the thumb to the rest of the fingers gets frayed. One thing that I desire from The Tin Shed is that to make it available a bit of Repair leather remnant in the matching color. Because even as I order a new pair still for some yardwork I want to keep on using the old pair and a bit of patch repair will allow that. You get the new order anyway but I am so attached to each pair that I want to enjoy every pair to the very end. ,2

If your garment arrives and still doesn’t fit as expected, don’t worry. Our returns policy allows you to return the item for an exchange, store credit, or a refund.

How should I wash my products?

Generally for knitwear, homeware or accessories made from natural fibres it is recommended to hand wash or dry clean items. We recommend always following the care instructions on the label. If handwashing, soak your item for 10 mins in cold water with a wool or delicate detergent. Rinse thoroughly in cold water. Rinse again in cold water. Gently squeeze the water out, do not wring or twist. Dry flat in the shade. Do not tumble dry. Store your garment folded and do not hang it to prevent stretching.
